Here is an outside of the box performer that will challenge you not to judge a book by its cover.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

UPDATE: After thinking about this video a lot today, I finally get WHY this is so popular.  It isn’t that the woman is so GREAT at singing.  I think what happens in this video taps in to the core of the human soul.  It reaches that part the does want people to succeed.  There is tremendous JOY that happens when someone does fulfill their potential or we get to witness what God created them for. Yes there is that part of this video that is expecting her to be this William Hung-style train wreck that never comes.  But this video is much, much more than that.  It sees a person at the very best and reminds us that we are created for so much more than we usually let ourselves believe.  As I watched her sing, I was deeply moved because I saw the Holy Spirit at work in her as she created such beautiful music.

I mean we are a hand-crafted creation of God!

I think this is what the core of ministry is about.  It is about coming alongside broken people and guiding them towards what God created them to do.  Unfortunately, our categories for what people ought to do are usually severely limited.  Instead of helping those in our ministry find what God created them for, we usually just try to fit them in to a position or fill an opening in our ministries.  “Can you be a small group leader?” (When they would be a great curriculum writer instead) When we do this, we are usually cramming a square peg into a round hole and there is little joy to be found there.

May you be inspired by this video and help those around you be inspired by the Holy Spirit at work within you.
