.::A bit of My Soul DIED Today :(

Today I had to surrender my California Driver’s License as I applied for a Tennessee Driver’s License.
It was another reminder that I no longer live in the Left Coast and that I now live in the Central Time Zone.
No more 30 minute drives to the beach or day trips to go snowboarding.license

Don’t get me wrong. I have been loving my life here in Tennessee and God has been more than good to us here.  It is just that once I woke up for the first time after having moved to California I knew I had been created to live in the Golden State.

Here are just a few of the rich blessings and deep memories I was showered with having lived there:

  • learning to scuba dive, ski, surf & snowboard
  • hiking Half Done at Yosemite three times (the last with my 10 year old)
  • meeting and marrying my wife
  • having my two girls born there
  • watching sunsets from Pepperdine Campus.
  • 16 years of wonderful full-time ministry.
  • Growing Avacados, Oranges, Plums, Lemons and Cherries in our  yard.
  • vacations to Tahoe, Yosemite, Napa, San Diego, San Francisco, Monterrey, etc.
  • Getting to attend Pepperdine and Fuller Seminary
  • House boating on Lake Shasta
  • Trips to Donner with extended family
  • Youth Minister Retreats at Sonora
  • Loving the Pacific Times Zone
  • Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles
  • The Torrance, Malibu and Campbell churches (not the buildings, the people)
  • Daybreak Camp, SEMP, CSM Trips, EQUIP, Wildwood, and countless other youth group trips filled with faith, laughter, memories and more.

Now I know God has other rich memories and blessings in store for us here in Middle Tennessee and I am excited to see what those will be.
